This past weekend,
I got to travel to Three Springs, PA for the GMER Enduro. Last
year, I attended my first GMER enduro and it was something totally different than anything I’ve raced
before. Most of the race course is off-camber which makes gradual
braking essential. It is one of the more technical races on the
circuit. I headed to the race Sunday morning from Penn State, and
got everything set up. Normally, we race 5 sections, but this time
we raced 9.
My day was a little
frustrating as I was hot and cold all day. From the start, I just
felt a little off but I soon found some speed in some sections.
That was followed by mistakes in other sections. With short
sections between 3 and 5 miles, any mistake was the difference between placing well and doing
mediocre. By day’s end, I was able to win the A-200 class and take
12th overall. I was a lot further off the AA pace this
time around, but I’m looking forward to regrouping for next weekend.
Next weekend, I
will be heading to Speedsville in New York for another ECEA enduro.
I hope to bring home another win and a top ten finish. Thanks to
everyone that has supported me this year!
